Online Poker Tournaments

Poker Tournaments are a great way to immerse yourself in an intense day of poker. Most tournaments operate by charging a buy-in and a fee, generally noted like this: “$6+$1” - which means you pay $6 toward the prize pot and $1 to the poker room for hosting the tournament.

Once the players have bought-in to the game, each player receives the same number of chips and regular poker play commences and goes on until 1 player has won all the chips. That player takes the prize pot.

    * Single table means that if you take all the chips at your (single) table, you win.

** Multi Table, means that there is more than one table involved in the tournament, and therefore more people. In a multi-table tournament, as people run out of chips and drop out, they merge tables until there is one player left - the winner.

*** Some poker rooms run both single and multi table games, either concurrently or at different times.

In addition to smaller daily/weekly/monthly tournaments, some poker rooms like Party Poker host very large events, including qualifying rounds for the "Party Poker Millions" tournaments, with huge prizes for those that work their way up.
